The beginning of April was a little weird. I came back home to the UK after getting stranded in New Zealand (more in my upcoming travel posts) having to recover from my adventures and adjusting to the new reality at home was a little, not hard, but a little disorientating. I’m not going to complain, I’m working in a tech company so I’m super lucky to be able to work from home and to have a secure job. All that intro to say that although we are in a lockdown my day to day life hasn’t changed very much (apart from being at home instead of an office) so my reading habits haven’t changed either and although I tried I read less that I would like to. But oh well. We all do the best we can.
So without further ado here are the 2 books I managed to finish in the month of April.
Promise of Blood by Brian McClellan
Status: Complete
Rating: 4/5

I had a blast reading Promise of Blood. Magic and guns made a unique and interesting world. I feel that there is so much more to come in the following books that I can’t wait to read the rest of the series.
The Girl and the Stars by Mark Lawrence
Status: Complete
Rating: 3/5

I was quite excited about this one but unfortunately… It didn’t live to my expectation. Maybe I’ll be in the minority but although the writing and the world were beautiful the execution of the story and the character lacked for me.
The Last Wish by Andrzej Sapkowski
Status: In progress
Rating: To come
