For our 10th anniversary by partner and I decided to go for a long weekend in Cornwall. Our time was limited but we still had an amazing time and got to see some beautiful places. To find out keep reading.
After settling down in our nice little cottage we had to find a place to have dinner. Our Air BnB hosts recommended (amongst other) Porthleven.
Porthleven is a cute little town on the seaside and is the most southerly part of the UK. We walked along the harbour for a bit before hunger really hit us hard and we sat down in a nice restaurant for some crab and crab pasta.
St Micheal’s Mount is a tidal island. The island is a civil parish and a counterpart of Mont-Saint-Michel in Normandy in France
Unfortunately, the day of our visit was the only day of the week that the castle is closed so we only got to visit the harbour. But it was still very nice.

My partner and I love hiking (when we get the chance). We were told that driving to Land’s End really wasn’t worth it and that the spot is overrated. So we decided to walk from Sennen Cove Harbour to Land’s End hoping that the walk and the scenery will be worth it. And they were. The views are fantastic and the walk it a good exercise. It was around 1h each way. And yes as a spot Land’s End is not a big deal, but the walk was worth it.
St Ivy is the most popular destination in Cornwall. It’s a picturesque fishing harbour and seaside town and has been voted best family holiday destination by Coast magazine and one of Trip Advisor’s top 10 European beaches.
There are a lot of shops and restaurant along the harbour and some beautiful beaches. Having grown up in Greece it’s difficult for beaches to impress me but St Ives had some surprisingly beautiful water and golden sand. If it wasn’t for the fact that I need the temperature outside to be above 30°C I would have gladly swum there.
Those are the places that we visited during our long weekend. My poor little girl was exhausted by the end of it
